I am a Registered Nurse with my Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Michigan State University. Shortly after graduating, I pursued a career as a labor and delivery nurse and got married to my college sweetheart. After 12 years of living in the Chicagoland area my heart started to long for the outdoors and back to my roots of growing up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, however, sunny Colorado was tugging at our heart strings.
We have since moved to the quaint town of Castle Rock Colorado to amplify our active lifestyle with our growing boys, Wyatt and Preston, and our German shepherd Moose. We love exploring the mountain towns and finding new adventures. Colorado has allowed us to enjoy the great outdoors- hiking, mountain biking, fishing, paddle boarding, skiing and snowboarding.
Over the course of the last 15 years, I have worked in the hospital setting as a RN with an emphasis in labor and delivery. I loved empowering women and families in their most vulnerable, while witnessing the miracle of life. I truly thrived in the fast paced atmosphere but, hospital nursing has its challenges and it has been very taxing to my body and my family.
Also, throughout my experiences I have started to question and ponder...
"Why is the health of our mommas' declining and why do so many patients have comorbidities in pregnancy?"
"Why are these health issues not addressed before conception and before birth?"
"Why is modern medicine failing our health in the US and why is the health of our nation declining?"
"Why is preventative medicine not our main focus?"
"Why aren't medical schools and nursing schools taught the value of proper nutrition?"
These thoughts reinstated my passion for "all things nutrition." Those that know me well would say that I have always been a huge proponent for "clean eating" and maintaining a healthy lifestyle through diet, exercise, and stress management.
I have since left bedside nursing to achieve a certification in Functional Nutrition through the Functional Nutrition Alliance. This is preventative medicine at its core and addresses the root cause of so many conditions that many of you are battling with. I fell in love with this philosophy of functional medicine and functional nutrition and know that this is a paradigm shift in healthcare.
We often overlook and diminish the aspect that "Food is Medicine." Research shows that dietary habits influence disease risk. While certain foods may trigger chronic health conditions, others may offer strong medicinal and protective qualities.
I would love to partner with you and tailor a program specifically to your needs to shift your health back into harmony.
I want to empower you to take back your health and to live a life full of energy and vitality!
Much Love,
